Beautiful, tranquil place to eat despite being set in an old prison, loved the old buildings and prison rooms converted to dining rooms. We had choice of any of the prison rooms and each were tastefully decorated. Ordered some sandwiches which were fairly good.

Funky place in a lovingly restored and decorated historical prison building next to the Makana Botanical Gardens. A great place to meet a friend or colleague for a coffee. Friendly staff and tasty freshly made food, if a little on the pricey side. The coffee is very good. Great outside play area for kids.

1: Atmosphere. The area is overall chill the vast majority of the time. It has well-made and designed outdoor seating, as well as a jungle-gym for the kids. It's not overly full or busy most of the time, so it's my personal place to get away from life. It also has Wi-Fi available for all students, making it a favored work area away from distraction. 2: Service. As aforementioned, it isn't very busy and meals take 15 minutes tops. Also, unlike other restaurants, if they do not have something in stock, they will tell you immediately. It's also located just above the center of campus and the end of the town Park run. They also do delivery. 3: Food. Personally I've only had vegetarian, but it is amazing, with plenty of deserts, vegetarian toasties, burgers, and schwarma. They particularly excel at having a varied and interesting unique drinks menu, I would particularly recommend the Ice Blondie. Overall the Provost is a must-try for any students or visitors.

Sweet little place with some interesting, unusual options and good sun and shade seating. Their carrot cake cream cheese frosting is bliss.

Really cool little coffee shop that used to be a prison. Having a cup of coffee in a prison cell is pretty sick. The coffee and atmosphere is lekka too.

Quirky setting for a cafe - being a former jail - but the service, drinks and food were actually good. A very enjoyable experience!
